My weigh in yesterday did not go as well as I wanted it to. I ended up gaining 0.4 pounds. Which, in light of my week, was not terrible. It definitely could've been worse. Hopefully once these antibiotics are done and the bladder infection is gone I will get back to normal. There has also got to be a limit to my snacking. It has got to stop. In happier news, I got on my scale this morning and was actually down to 236. Definitely makes up for yesterday's slump.
Does anyone have any tips on searching for a good quality elliptical? Researching them is getting overwhelming. I think I have looked at every brand elliptical out there and have come to no conclusion on what I want. Decision making is not one of my best skills. I can see myself spending hours, then days, then weeks and never making a decision. Help!!! I would like to stay under $1k but still get a good quality machine that doesn't wobble and squeak. An MP3 input would be nice as well. The ellipticals at www.Smoothfitness are really nice but the low end affordable model has not MP3 input and their higher end models only have Ipod docks (which I don't have). Any help would be appreciated!.com
Here's to a great week!
Well I can tell you my elliptical experience...if that will help. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have a precor machine. The crossramp machines are by far the best in my opinion. That said, I didn't have $3000+ for one. We had less than $1000 to spend and got a small machine from who knows what brand (can't remember right now). At first I was excited but that quickly faded. You get what you pay for. The small machine felt unstable. It had the big wheel thingy in the front (instead of the back like precor) so it felt more like climbing stairs than walking/running. The smaller machines are best if you only want to do a moderate workout. I felt unsafe using it for an intense workout. Needless to say...I am in the market for a replacement. I tried a few machines at several sports stores and most of the affordable models were not up to my standards. I kinda liked the Nordictrack AudioStrider but not sure if that is "the one". I sure wish I had the cash for the precor. Good luck! Go and try out machines to find what you like....or at least what you can live with!
ReplyDeleteWe have a NordicTrack AudioStrider 600 but I see now that's it's been discontinued. Doesn't look like it got very good reviews but we've always been happy with it. The NordicTrack Pathfinder seems to be rated better and it's $899 (sears.com). I didn't realize that ellipticals are rated for a high-end weight - ours is 275 not that my husband or I weigh that much but I guess it has something to do with the stability.
